iPads make their debut in 2nd grade!
Ms. Gage's 2nd graders were the first to use the district's classroom set of iPads for the past two days. In these pictures, the students are using a post card application to practice writing friendly letters. They mailed them to Ms. Gage and their parents.

Prairie Lane Bully Awareness Week
Prairie Lane students recognized Bullying Awareness week by making handprints with anti-bullying messages to stop bullying. The handprints are displayed in the form of a peace sign in the gym to leave a message that together we can create peace at our school
and stand up to bullying.

Geography Bee
The Geography Bee was open to all students in grade 4, 5 and 6. The students participated in a preliminary multiple-choice competition in each classroom. The top students moved on to compete in the oral bee at Prairie Lane on Tuesday, November 22.
Our school champion is Kyle Trivilino. He will take a written test and possibly qualify for the state level Geography bee, which will be held at UNO. Congratulations also to Will Derby, our second place contestant.

Prairie Lane's Spelling Bee
On Thursday, November 3rd, the Prairie Lane Spelling Bee was held in the Media Center. All students in grade 4-6 took a written test to determine who would compete. There were 14 qualifying students from grade four, five, and six. Congratulations to Sam Clark, our school winner and Peter Krenzer, who placed second in the competition. Sam and Peter will move on to the Westside School District Bee, which will be held on December 2nd at the Community Conference Center. Patrick Burkholder and Jordan Rhyner are the two alternates, and will also attend the competition to cheer on their school. We wish them much luck. Congratulations to all of our super spellers!
