April Construction Update
Posted April 3, 2020
Despite closures across our city and world due to COVID-19, the Coronavirus pandemic has had little impact on work to renovate and rebuild Prairie Lane Elementary. Here are updates on the project as of April 3, 2020:
- The CMU walls for the storm shelter are nearly complete and the precast concrete roof structure will be installed in the coming weeks.
- The frame of the new portion of the building will become visible in early April once crews begin putting up the structural steel.
- Mechanical, electrical and fire suppression rough-in activities continue throughout the existing portion of the building, which will also receive a new roof in the coming weeks.
We trust our contracted companies are following social distancing guidelines as advised by government officials; it is more feasible to maintain physical distance on large project sites such as Prairie Lane. We have been informed on other projects that some products and material may be delayed due to factory and fabrication plant shutdowns, however, these delays should have minimal impact on the Prairie Lane project as we are in the structure and enclosure phases.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
